The Mysterines announce 2020 Headliner Tour

The Mysterines by John Johnson

Liverpool 3-piece The Mysterines have announced their first headline tour of the UK for 2020.

The band have been making a lot of waves as of late with a string of support slots with artists like Miles Kane, The Amazons and Sea Girls and festival performances including a BBC Introducing slot at this years Reading Festival. They’ve also seen a shower of praise from critics and DJs such as Steve Lamaq and are getting frequent spins on BBC 6Music and Radio X, the latter of which named them as one of the best bands for 2019.

The origins of The Mysterines were exicting with little online presence about the band, with posters stating “Who Are The Mysterines?” appearing around Liverpool before the band started playing live shows. The hype surrounding the band in the early days highlights how incendiary their live performances are.

We were lucky enough to catch the band at Underground Festival in Gloucester back in 2018 and wrote at the time “one of the best sets from an upcoming band that I can remember, with their heavy, grungey, blues-based rock that absolutely fills the room. Lead singer Lia Medcalf ‘s vocals are massive, intense and ferocious. The band are incredibly tight and play like they’ve been doing this for a long, long time. If they’re not huge once they release an album then we, collectively, need to take a hard look at ourselves.

They’ve had a string of singles released and an EP, “Take Control” released in 2019 and have just released their new single “Who’s Ur Girl?” which takes inspiration from David Lynch’s thriller Blue Velvet.

You can catch them at the following shows:

November 20th – Norwich – UEA *
November 22nd – London – O2 Brixton Academy *
December 7th – Liverpool – Jimmy’s (SOLD OUT)
