Celebrating a triumphant return after a four-year hiatus, psych-punk-power duo The Lovely Eggs are poised to unveil their latest musical creation. Since the release of their chart-topping album, ‘I Am Moron’, the duo has been far from idle, engaging in a myriad of creative endeavours. From producing their own television series, EGGS TV, to noteworthy collaborations with Iggy Pop and embarking on a series of sold-out gigs and festivals, The Lovely Eggs have remained a dynamic force in the music scene.
Amidst their ventures, the duo dedicated two years to the preservation of the Lancaster Music Co-Op, a community-oriented rehearsal space and recording studio, where they reside. Undeterred by their busy schedule, The Lovely Eggs have diligently crafted a new album, slated for release in May. Recorded at their home in Lancaster, the production features the expertise of Dave Fridmann, renowned for his work with The Flaming Lips. The final touches were added during a visit to Fridmann’s studio in upstate New York in December 2023.
Fans eagerly anticipating a taste of their upcoming album won’t have to wait long, as The Lovely Eggs will unveil the first single, “My Mood Wave,” on February 9th. Described by singer and guitarist Holly as an “internal thought monologue,” the track navigates the complexities of daily life, offering a coping mechanism for those who find the world overwhelming. With an uplifting contemporary sound and a hint of West Coast retro vibes, “My Mood Wave” promises a gorgeously addictive melody that lingers in the mind.
For enthusiasts of tangible music experiences, a physical 7″ release of “My Mood Wave” is scheduled, featuring striking artwork from Casey Raymond. The Aquamarine transparent vinyl edition, coupled with an exclusive track titled “Crab Shell,” will be complemented by a free Lovely Eggs air freshener for the first 250 copies ordered directly from the band’s website.
The joyous reunion with fans is not limited to the digital realm, as The Lovely Eggs are set to embark on a nationwide tour in May.
