The Lemon Twigs, comprising sibling duo Brian and Michael D’Addario, unveil their latest single “How Can I Love Her More?” from their upcoming album “A Dream Is All We Know,” set for release on May 3rd via Captured Tracks. Wrestling with themes of love and lost love, the track showcases the band’s multi-instrumentalist prowess, featuring blaring horns, strings, two drum sets, adventurous bass parts, and more.
In a statement about the single, the brothers expressed their excitement, explaining their attempt to bridge professional Brill Building writing with the off-the-wall style of the post Sgt Pepper psychedelic scene. Despite its abundance of musical ideas, “How Can I Love Her More?” remains a catchy pop song, reflecting The Lemon Twigs’ unique blend of influences.
Accompanying the release is a video directed and edited by The Lemon Twigs themselves, taking viewers on a trip through Central Park and museum row in NYC, interspersed with moments of mischief.
Recorded entirely to tape and mixed and mastered by Brian and Michael, “A Dream Is All We Know” presents a historically accurate yet fresh tracklisting, drawing inspiration from the Lennon-McCartney songbook, The Wilson family harmonies, and nods to artists like The Move and Big Star. The album showcases the brothers’ growth as visionary songwriters and arrangers, reflecting their journey from teenage musicians to seasoned artists with a diverse array of collaborations and accolades.
With anticipation building for “A Dream Is All We Know,” The Lemon Twigs continue to captivate audiences with their distinctive sound and innovative approach to songwriting.
