Disco legends, Nile Rodgers & Chic, famed for hits like “Le Freak” and “Good Times” are set to play a huge gig at Gloucester Rugby grounds, Kingsholm Stadium on June 9th.
Musical icon, Nile Rodgers is a a multiple GRAMMY-winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist. As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like “Le Freak,” sparked the advent of hip-hop with “Good Times,” and won CHIC 11 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations.
On top of this, he’s renowned for his production work, teaming up with artists such as David Bowie, Dianna Ross and, more recently, working on some of the biggest tracks of contemporary music with Daft Punk, Avicii, Disclosure and Sam Smith.
Nile Rodgers & Chic are touring their ninth studio album, “It’s About Time” which was released in 2018, their first new album in 26 years, and featured collaborations with some of the biggest names in music including Craig David, Stefflon Don and Mura Masa.
The gig is being brought to Gloucester by a partnership between Music Plus Sport and Gloucester Rugby and will be the second large event taking place in June, with X Factor star Olly Murrs returning to Gloucestershire after his gig at Westonbirt Arboretum in 2018, for a performance at Kingsholm Stadium on 7th June.
