Greatest hits albums are something of a rarity in the streaming era. Many labels find them to be redundant when listeners can curate their own playlists. However, a quick look at the weekly album charts shows they are dominated by best ofs from the likes of The Weeknd, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Eminem and Abba.
A Greatest Hits record can be a useful entry point for new listeners in addition to celebrating what an artist has achieved so far and we’d love to see them make a proper comeback.
Father John Misty has announced a greatest hits record documenting his solo career to date. “Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Crawl” is available digitally now with physical editions released on August 16th. There’s also a new single, “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All” which you can listen to below.
