After a long six year wait, Jamie T has released a brand new single “The Old Style Raiders” taken from his upcoming album “The Theory of Whatever”.
Premiering as the “Hottest Record In the World” on Radio 1, Jamie T’s “The Old Style Raiders”, produced by Hugo White (The Maccabees), sees Jamie come back with a defiant anthem that’s sure to be the soundtrack of the summer. After struggling creatively for the last five years, where Jamie had written over 180 songs, the song helped Jamie regain his focus and settle on 13 tracks that represent what Jamie wanted to say.
“The Old Style Raiders” is the albums opening track, setting out the statement for the album. Talkign about the the track, Jamie has said “It’s got hope in it. It’s fighting to find something that means enough to you that you love. The fight to find that, and to carry on striving, to find something you love enough to hold on to.
Rather than kid love or movie love or, gushy love or lust love, whatever you have when you’re younger – it’s actually trying to fight for something that means more than that. It’s the struggle to find that.”
“The Theory of Whatever” is due to be released on July 29th via Polydor Records and Jamie T will be playing an intimate show at Subterania in London on 11th May.
The album can be pre-ordered from Jamie T’s official store (https://jamiet.lnk.to/officialstorepr), anyone who pre-orders before 17:00 BST on 4th May will be able to purchase tickets for the Subterania show.
