Bristolian punk band IDLES return with the first track from their, as yet, untitled and undated second album.
Their first album was another that topped our best albums of last year and their new track “Colossus” seems to keep up the same high standards.
The song is divided into two halves with an intense build up to a blistering final minute, with the song exploring the perceptions of what is expected of men in modern society as frontman Joe Talbot tells us “I don’t want to be your man, your man”
The brilliant video directed by Will Hooper helps to reinforce the message, featuring male role models across the years from Steve McQueen to Jesus.
IDLES continue to be one of the most vital bands around – we’d recommend also catching them in a live setting too.
