Australian shred lords DZ Deathrays have announced their brand new album “Positive Rising: Part 1″ and shared the first single “IN-TO-IT“.
“IN-TO-IT” manages to be both familiar and fresh for the band, despite only being released a year after their last album “Bloody Lovely” and hot off the back of a 10-year anniversary tour. The track sees vocalist Shane Parsons adopt a more spoken delivery during the verses as the lyrics explore a difficult relationship with alcohol. The chorus kicks in and the familiar DZ Deathrays sound takes over, as Parsons’ proclaims “Don’t give a fuck about tomorrow morning // My knees are weak and my head is soaring // My body hurts but my brain ignores it”
“IN-TO-IT” is the first track to be shared from DZ Deathrays fourth album, “Positive Rising: Part 1” which is due to be released on Friday 30th August 2019 via Alcopop! Records in the UK.
“Positive Rising: Part 1” was written over 2 weeks in LA and has guest appearances from Matt Caughthran (The Bronx) and Kirsty Tickle (Exhibitionist) as well as a song co-written with Kim Moyes (The Presets). Miro Mackie takes over on production and mixing duties who has helped the band explore new sonic territories whilst still retaining their signature sound.
The band now operate as a full trio with touring guitarist Lachlan Ewbank fully joining the ranks.
