BEANS ON TOAST RELEASES ‘SAVE THE MUSIC’

Beans on Toast has shared his final Lockdown series release ‘Save The Music’.

With the COVID-19 pandemic destroying economies around the world, one of the hardest hit sectors in the UK is the events industry. Whilst live events are trickling through in some capacity, a return to normal doesn’t seem possible for the foreseeable future. Venues across the country are shutting down and job layoffs are rife throughout the industry.

Beans on Toast has returned with a simple message, we must ‘Save The Music’. The release of the track coincides with the #WeMakeEvents protests taking place around the UK this week which aim to bring attention to the crews and freelancers who are fundamental to the operation of Live Music but are being horrendously overlooked by the Government.

The video for the song was filmed in London’s The Clapham Grand, a 120 year old venue that is at risk of permanent closure, where Beans on Toast recently made history by playing a set to a (socially distanced) live audience in the first independent indoor gig along with Frank Turner and Ciara Haidar.

The results of the Government backed trial were not promising with such events not seeming financially viable due to a reduced capacity but increased running costs. You can read more about the trial on Frank Turner’s blog.

However, not one to rest on his laurels, activist Beans on Toast has recently announced a string of socially distanced outdoor shows.

You can catch him him at one of the following date:

15TH – BIG SHEEP – DEVON – Tickets/Details

16TH – FULL MOON – BRISTOL – Tickets/Details

28th  – THE SOCIAL 2.0 – CUMBRIA – Tickets/Details

29TH – WE ARE NOT A FESTIVAL – EAST SUSSEX – Tickets/Details

Along with Beans, let’s keep up the pressure and ‘Save the stages and the venues // save the sound and light crews // save the bar staff and promoters // save the kid handing out flyers // save the singer in the band…’
