Beans on Toast – “Alexa”

It’s that time of year again! Since 2009 prolific folk singer Beans On Toast has released an album per year on his birthday – the 1st December.

This year is no different and will see the release of “A Bird in the Hand” via Xtra Mile Recordings.

Today he has offered up the second taste of the album with new track “Alexa” and, as you’ve probably guessed from the title, it’s main theme is the voice controlled virtual assistant from Amazon. The song deals with the worrying way that society has accepted into their homes devices that record and monitor their activity all in the name of convenience.

As usual, Beans lyrics are on point and offer a searing insight into modern culture and the full band sound fills the track out to make it one of Beans’ strongest punk tracks to date.

The track, and the album, is produced by Mumford & SonsBen Lovett.
