Former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes brings his phenomenal third solo record “World’s Strongest Man” for a live outing at Bristol Trinity Centre.
All three of Gaz’s solo albums have set to distance himself from the early Britpop sounds of his former band and this show proved that he is so much more than the ex-Supergrass frontman.
The setlist focused heavily on the new album, which is ok as it definitely features some of his best material to date with standout tracks “Deep Pockets”, “Wounded Ego” and “In Waves” , but we were treated to hear old favourites such as “Hot Fruit”, “20/20″ and “Buffalo”.
Gaz ably switched between guitar and piano, with his powerful voice being showcased in the former church, and was backed up by support Piney Gir on backing vocals and a solid, rock and roll band.
