FONTAINES DC + CREEPER RULE UK ALBUM CHARTS

The music charts are increasingly dominated by streaming and rock, indie and alternative acts are still finding it difficult to break through on the likes of Spotify and Apple Music. Instead, they rely heavily on physical sales, record shop signings and touring. These things have, of course, been made much more difficult by the ongoing pandemic.

It is, therefore, very pleasing to see not one, but two, great bands at the top of the midweek album charts today. Fontaines DC are storming ahead with their 2nd album, ‘A Hero’s Death’, and look set to have a Number 1 album in the UK on Friday.

Narrowly ahead of Taylor Swift in second place are Creeper with their sophomore album, ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’. It would be brilliant to see these two bands at the top of the charts this week so, if you can, pick up a copy of either record from your local indie retailer.

You can watch the new Creeper video here and the video for Fontaines DC‘s ‘I Don’t Belong’ taken from the new record below.
