ALBUM OF THE WEEK: LAPSLEY – ‘THROUGH WATER’

Ahead of the release of her debut album, ‘Long Way Home‘, Låpsley was being hailed as the next big thing on XL Records. The album, whilst overproduced in places, was full of potential hits and so it was something of a disappointment when the record stalled at Number 32 in the UK charts and she didn’t quite make it up to the bigger venues as expected.

4 years later, Låpsley is back with a record which really expands on her strengths. It’s a current sounding electro-pop record – part Billie Eilish, part Bjork.
