Folk-punk band Skinny Lister have dropped the video for their new single “Second Amendment” which is taken from “The Story Is…”, their 4th studio album which was released on Xtra Mile earlier this year.

The band are well known for their incredible live shows (which often features a flagon of rum being passed around) and their ability to capture the true feeling of punk and unity and, like all good punk bands, they are not afraid to put out a political statement.

Second Amendment” is one of those tracks where the band are tackling a much debated topic about America’s Second Amendment which states that American citizens should have the rights to bear arms. With the recent mass shootings that are prevalent in American society, it’s a topic that needs to be addressed – and Skinny Lister have done that in the best way they know how, with an up-beat catchy, barn stormer of a tune.

To match the message of the track, the band have put out a playful video set in America which sees them donning 18th Century outfits. When speaking about the video, frontman Dan Heptinstall commented:

“As well as being a great excuse to dress up in late 18th century costume, the video is designed to illustrate how out of step the ‘Second Amendment’ is with the modern world. Wearing clothes contemporary to its creation, we land from the sea into a modern age where we’re completely out of place. The muskets are fake by the way!”

If you haven’t been to a Skinny Lister show yet, we’d highly recommend it if you’re into excellent music and a good time (if you aren’t, you’re probably on the wrong site…). You can catch them at their final shows of 2019 at the following venues:
