Orchards, who have been recognised by BBC Radio One’s Huw Stephens as “Ones To Watch” in 2019, have announced a brand new double A-side single.
“Young” / “Mature Me” is due to be released on March 29th 2019 via Big Scary Monsters with “Young” currently available on streaming platforms and below. It’s a massive slice of alt-pop and a track we can easily see being on our soundtrack of the summer!
“I suppose at the heart of it, ‘Young’ is about unrequited love, but a love that you’ve learned with hindsight wasn’t right for you in the first place,” explains vocalist Lucy Evers of the A-side to the new single. “It’s about wanting to go back to that initial moment and live in it. The hardest and most rewarding part to write was the spoken-word section. Poetry has always been something I adore but never thought I’d be able to combine with music, but now here it is!
“We all slowly fell in love with the song over the recording process, exploring the possibilities of it and really looking at how we could knock our songwriting and musicianship up a gear.”
